Well, I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, but I've been on vacation :)
12 hours in the car with 3 kids under the age of 5 was a bit much, but it's been totally worth it!
Unfortunately, Mike got really really sick the second day, so we ended up stopping at the kid's Aunt Cindy's (Cheryl's sister) house. What started as a boring pitstop where I had to sleep on the couch ended with a surprise trip to IMAX in the middle of the night to see Avatar.
And the kids woke me up yesterday with a heart-shaped box of chocolate for Valentine's day <3
Well, I have lots and lots of pictures to add, but I'll have to do that later.

an angry dad

Today is just not going my way.
Mike is mad at the kids, so he's in a foul mood as it is. And on top of that, since I live here and spend so much time with the kids, I think he's just kinda lumped me in with the kids in his mind, so he's mad at me too.
I haven't done anything, and I'm really not worried, I'm just frustrated.
And, tomorrow we're leaving for AZ on a road trip. Just me, Mike, and the kids. I'm not really looking forward to 12 hours with them in an enclosed space.
So I'm spending today trying to get ready for the trip, and trying to figure out how to unclog a toilet when there are no plungers in the entire house.
I need to get out of this house ASAP.
Like I said, good days and bad days. Today falls in the last category.

Update: I just threw up. I am not a happy camper right now.

Bitten

Today was a hard day to say the least. Summer bit me. And drew blood.
The kids didn't nap, so, neither did I.

The snow sure is coming down! We're supposed to have 9 inches by tomorrow. yay :)

A tad overdue

I realized that I had forgotten to post the picture I had my mom take of me and the kids my first day here. So, here it is!

So, tonight Cheryl and Mike are going out for Mike's birthday. They're having Jessica, a girl who lives down the street, come to babysit the kids. That way I have an extra pair of hands and I can go to sleep when I please. I'm excited because she's about my age, and, let's face it: I have no life here yet! Here's hoping we'll get along!

Kids say the darndest things!

1. At a local grocery store, Reid picks out a pack of gum for his sisters. While in the checkout lane, the lady at the counter asks him if he wants his pack now. He replies simply with: "No, that's not for me! It's for my girls."
2. In the living room, Keira begins to make ringing noises. She runs and grabs the remote and puts it up to her ear. "Hello. Hahahaha, you're so funny! Oh, okay then. Byebye" She then turns to me and says, "It was the pink power-ranger. She was really busy though."
3. I walk into the kitchen where I expect the kids to be eating dinner and I find them dancing in a circle, completely naked, singing a little tune of "We're a naked family!"

I love those kids!
Oh, and after a long hard first day of work, my wonderful boss has offered to drive me into town to see a movie.

Kids everywhere!

Yesterday was my first day of work, but not with the kids. See, I take care of the kids on tuesdays and thursdays. On the other days, I clean up after them.
So, today is my first day taking care of the kids all on my own!
